Sigiritrip Tours · The south coast down to Galle
A private car and driver take you down the coast for Galle Fort, stilt fishermen, a Madu River boat ride and turtle hatcheries, picking from a long list of stops. Choose it for flexibility: you decide what to see and what to skip.

Sigiritrip Tours picks you up anywhere in Colombo or Negombo. The price covers the car, the driver, the expressway tolls and the driver's own meals, plus water and on-board Wi-Fi. It's a flat $85 per person, so couples don't pay extra.
The listing shows ten stops: Galle Fort and its lighthouse, Unawatuna Beach, the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala, the stilt fishermen, two turtle centres (Kosgoda and Mahamodara), a Madu River boat safari and the Kalutara Bodhiya temple. Nobody fits all ten into 8 to 10 hours. Think of it as a menu: guests who liked it chose four or five and skipped the rest.
The 4.5 rating hides a split. Most guests love their driver; a run of 1 and 2-star reviews from early 2026 come from cruise passengers who learned at the pier that Galle is about 3 hours each way. Some got a driver, not a guide. The boat ride is extra, and one couple was asked for $100 and settled on $60. Agree the price, the stops and your return time before you set off.
From your hotel or the port. Message the operator on WhatsApp if your place isn't listed.
The white stupa at Kalutara Bodhiya, then a boat ride through the mangroves. Fix the boat price first.
A turtle hatchery by the beach, tickets paid on the spot.
Walk the ramparts and the lanes inside the fort. Lunch is yours to pay.
Pick one or two, then about 2.5 to 3 hours back to Colombo.
★★★★★It is a long day, but Dana made the journey very comfortable and was very helpful. The turtle conservation tour was very interesting. And, whilst initially I was not sure I wanted to do the boat safari, it turned out to be a highlight.
★★★★★The tour was interesting, informative and without rush, I could change something during our tour without any difficulties.
★★★★★Our guide was wonderful. We saw everything we wanted and skipped what we didn’t want to see [...] It’s a long day. Make sure you have time.
★★★★★He drove us to all the places listed plus accommodated our request to pick up a quick lunch and washroom break. He knew we had to be back at the ship at a certain time and assured us that it would not be a problem.

Guests report 2.5 to 3 hours each way door to door, even with the Southern Expressway. Count on 5 to 6 hours in the car on an 8 to 10-hour day.
The car, tolls and driver's food are. The listing marks the Madu River boat and the turtle centres as not included, so you pay those on the spot. Galle Fort is free. Our prices guide lists the 2026 fees.
Only with a long port day. Several cruise guests in 2026 had to cut the tour short. With less than 8 hours, pick a Colombo tour.
The driver guides you; there's no separate guide. Most guests praise their driver's stories, but a few got a driver who didn't know the area well.
